1/4 cup Sabudana
3 tbsp vegetable oil
1 tsp Cumin Seeds
1 tbsp Sesame Seeds
1 1/2 cup Butter milk
3 Green Chilies
2 tsp Ginger Garlic paste
Salt to taste
1 tsp Turmeric Powder
250 gm Bottle Gourd grated
1 tsp Baking Soda
Asafoetida / Hing to taste
4 Curry Leaves
2 tbsp Coriander Leaves

Farali Handvo Step by step

In a grinder coarsely grind moraiyo and sabudana.

Take a bowl, add the ground mixture and buttermilk, make the batter like a normal handvo or as idli batter.

Now add chopped green chilies, ginger garlic paste, turmeric powder, salt and grated bottle gourd.

Mix well and keep aside for 15 - 20 minutes.

Now add baking soda and coriander leaves, mix well.

Take a pan, heat oil on medium flame.

Now add cumin seeds, sesame seeds, curry leaves and asafoetida, saute it on a medium flame for a second.

Now pour the batter and spread it well for an even thick layer.

Cover a lid and cook it until the bottom surface turns golden brown around 10-15 minute on low flame.

Lift the handvo gently, cover with a lid and cook for another 8-10 minute till another side turns golden brown in color

Switch off the gas and cool slightly then cut into pieces.
