Pronounced as “See-rotch-ah” or “See-rah-jah”.

What’s it?

Sriracha is a red hot, spicy sauce (ketchup) filled in bottle with a lime-green cap.

It looks very hot/spicy but actually, it is less hot than a jalapeno. In fact, the red jalapeno peppers used in this sauce miss half of their spiciness in processing and that’s why it’s not as hot as jalapeno.

What is it made of?

Sriracha is made of chilli peppers, sugar, garlic, distilled vinegar, and salt. Its consistency varies between brands- Huy Fong’s sauce is similar in consistency to ketchup, and the original Sriraja Panich has a thinner, more liquid consistency.

Sriracha helps to cook really good food with it.

How does it taste?

The taste varies by brand, but generally, it’s tangy-sweet with a slight taste of garlic. In short, it’s spicy and hot.

Manufacturing Capacity:

It became so popular that Lay’s brand rolled out their own Sriracha flavour.

In which dish can you use it?

Sriracha is commonly used in seafood dishes, in omelets, and it’s added to sauces for pad Thai dishes. In the U.S., it’s often used like ketchup and you can also use it to stir-fries, soups, burgers, and more. And ultimately, you can always use it to spice up the bowl of rice.
