Medu Vada (Indian Doughnut) Step by step

Clean, wash and soak the Black gram in enough water.

In a mixture bowl, add the green chillies, pepper, coriander leaves and ginger and mix in a mixer to a smooth batter. Adding a little water, salt and again mix it well.

Wet the palms, take golf size batter, flatten to round shape and make a hole in the centre looking like a doughnut now with another hand slowly slide Vada into the hot oil.

Deep fry the vada till both sides turn golden brown in colour.

Serve it with the south Indian sambar and coconut chutney.
